The 2023 Croí Corrib Cycle is a fundraising event for Croí that will take place on Sunday, June 18th, 2023. There are two routes on offer, 47 km and 107KM. All routes will start at Dangan Sports Pavillion and finish at Croí House, Newcastle, Galway (H91FF68). We encourage cyclists to use iDonate to fundraise for this cycle in aid of Croí. Once you register for the cycle, you will receive a confirmation email which will then allow you to create your iDonate profile. This is a fundraising event and we are so grateful for all the support which helps us to continue our vital work in communities throughout the region.

Cycle Pack Pickup

All cycle packs will be available at Dangan Sports Pavillion on the morning of the event. For those of you who would like to collect your cycle pack before the event you can collect in Croí at the times listed below.
- Croí House, Moyola Lane, Newcastle, Galway H91FF68 on Tuesday 13 June through Friday 16 June from 10am – 4pm


Routes
The first group (107 KM) will leave Dangan Sports Pavillion at 8:15 am and the 47KM will depart shortly after at 8:30. Please arrive between 7:15 and 8am as the entrance will be closed after 8. You will be given a bike number and wristband with your pack collection, please wear your wristband on the day to guarantee entrance to the start line and food stops along the way and affix your number to your bicycle. You can collect your tshirt/jersey (if applicable) at the times above.
107km route: Departs from Dangan Sports Facility Carpark (adjacent to NUIG), via Moycullen, Spiddal, Rossaveal, Maam Cross, Oughterard, Moycullen, and finishes back in Croí House, Newcastle, Galway City.
47km route: An out-and-back route that departs from Dangan Sports Facility Carpark (adjacent to NUIG), via Moycullen, Oughterard, back through Moycullen, and finishes in Croí House, Newcastle, Galway City.




Food Stops
We have several points enroute for you to top up your water and take advantage of our ‘grab and go’ food options (snacks, sandwiches, fruit and jellies).
Thanks to our sponsor Corrib Oil, Tea, Coffee, Water, Fruit and muffins will be available before the cycle at Dangan Sports Complex.

As we are limited to what we can provide in terms of refreshments, you might also wish to bring your own supply of cycling gels, energy bars, or indeed preferred foods if you think you might need them enroute.


Safety!
Please ensure your bike is checked before departure. Pump your wheels and ensure you have spare tubes for your wheels. Bike mechanics will be available on the routes. There will be no refunds as this is a charity event.
There will be adequate parking in place at Dangan Sports Complex. Please allow extra time to park and register. It will be busy. Please do not park illegally. Overflow parking will be available at the Park & Ride on the University of Galway campus, which is just a short cycle down the riverbank from Danagan Sports Pavillion.
- Cycling on the route is maximum of two abreast.
- The event is not a race and you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others on the road.
- Croí directional signs will be placed along the route and marshals will also be present. Please remember, marshals are only there to assist. You must check for oncoming traffic at all junctions.
- All participants will be provided with an emergency contact number in the case of an emergency on the route. Please note, this is not a number for bike repairs.
- Please ensure you have spare tubes in the event of a puncture and do not rely on the emergency number for help with changing punctures etc.
- No earphones permitted.
There will be tea and coffee, as well as post-event burgers, provided by O’Reilly’s Bar and Kitchen, Salthill, available for all participants after the event at Croí House. Ambulances and motor marshalls will be on all routes. Should you require assistance, please call the emergency number on your final confirmation email. In case of an emergency, dial 999 for an ambulance and then call the emergency event number.


Bring the following:
- Helmet
- Water bottle(s)
- Puncture repair kit and spare tubes
- Mobile phone with credit
- Snacks
- Sun cream
- Rain jacket
- Emergency money and ID
There will be Croí directional signage on all routes, including marshals to support you.
Remember rules of the road apply.
Please respect the volunteers, marshals and medics on the route, they are there for your safety.
Please bring your rubbish with you to the next refreshment stop if snacking on the route.
