Croí have been fundraising at the Galway Races for 24 years and are delighted to welcome their loyal supporters and all racegoers who enjoy Friday’s evening racing to join them for day five of the summer festival which is also known as ‘Fridays Most Stylish’!

The Galway Races is one of the most popular events in the Irish sporting calendar. Croí hopes to harness the energy and enthusiasm of attendees to raise much-needed funds for heart and stroke services to support patients and their families and to lead in the prevention of cardiovascular disease. The evening’s events will include a complimentary coach transfer to and from Ballybrit; admission to the racecourse; admission to the top floor Panoramic Suite of the Killanin Stand; drinks reception on arrival; a four-course evening meal with wine, a guest tipster and private tote facilities. Attendees can enjoy the post-race entertainment in Ballybrit which Galway Races promises is their biggest music lineup yet! Enjoy the festival atmosphere to the sounds of The Gamblers, The Conquerors, Bongo Steve, Rhythm Train DJ Set and finish up the evening with DJ Doc!
Croí is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against heart disease and stroke, two major causes of death in Ireland. Croí provides lifesaving and support services from their state-of-the-art Heart and Stroke Centre in Galway, including free on-site apartment accommodation for family members of those receiving lifesaving hospital treatment during one of the most stressful and frightening times of their lives. Croí depends on donations, philanthropy, and fundraising events to continue to provide these essential services.
“We are delighted to be hosting this event at the Galway Races for the 24th time this year. Not only is it an incredible opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of heart health, but it is also a chance for us to come together as a community and make a real difference in the lives of those affected by heart disease and stroke. All proceeds directly support Croí in the ongoing fight against heart disease and stroke.” said Neil Johnson, CEO, Croí.
Commenting on the upcoming fundraiser, Michael Moloney, CEO at Galway Racecourse said, “Croí is a brilliant long-standing partner for us here at Galway Races. Their mission and what they do aligns with our own brand values within our community. We visited them recently and saw first-hand the impactful work and projects they undertake. As a business, we are hugely proud to work with them and look forward to welcoming their guests to Ballybrit very soon”.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on our website here or by contacting Christine by email at christine@croi.ie or by phone at 091 544310.
The event is expected to be a sell-out so early booking is advisable. Croí would like to take this opportunity to thank the supporters of the Croí Race Day which is now in its 24th year. Only because of the generosity and support shown through these essential fundraising initiatives ensures Croí can continue the lifesaving initiatives throughout communities.
