Hi!
I wanted to send you my pics for the World Heart Day,not to win the Fitbit but to share my cardiac journey over the past 5 months.
The 1st picture was taken outside the Castlecourt Hotel in Westport on March 12th just before I set off on a 70km charity cycle with my brother Thomas. The next is a picture taken roughly 70 minutes later of me unconscious been airlifted to University Hospital Galway following a cardiac arrest. I had 27 minutes fabulous CPR on the roadside before an AED arrived.
The cyclist who found me was CPR trained,I will be forever grateful to her.
The 3rd picture is of me 6 weeks later back at the place it all happened. The 4th picture was taken last week of me and one of my 4 little children on top of Knocknarea in Sligo.
I am alive today thanks to wonderful people and fantastic services who helped and supported me from the moment I collapsed. The cause of my cardiac arrest is undiagnosed so my children will go for cardiac screening in October. I have registered for the ICD day at Croi next Saturday September 3rd,I am really looking forward to it.
Many thanks,
Kind regards,
Rosaleen.
